Why did I have so many boys? I can here them in the bathroom fighting over who's farts smell the worst. Screaming at the top of their lungs and throwing water all over the floor. I'm not cleaning it up. They can all have wet socks in the morning. I'm going to bed. {:o

Mid-Summer Projects

It seems that June always flies by too fast. Here we are in July, and I don't feel like I've accomplished anything. I'm working on the little boys room this year. I ripped out the closet header a couple of years ago, because it was bugging me. Today I put (I hope) the final coat of mud on the repairs to the opening. Thanks to Dad and my big Sis for helping to get me started. Painting is next. I wanted to be done with their room by the end of June. I'm never on time for anything...

I wish there were more of me...

I wonder if I have ADD. My mind seems to flit from one thing to the next these days.

I wish I were in Provo to see my other grandson more often, but then I would miss Trent. He gave his first talk today. He did great - saying big words like important and responsibility - with that clear cute speech that is Trent - until the last line - he refused to say "in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen." He turned around and said quite loudly "you say it", so I did. We know who's in charge at my house.

Hurray! I actually got in a nap today. I feel like I could sleep a few more days though. I can't wait until June. How many more days of school are there? Only nine until spring break. Then 34 after that. In between, state testing, and my kids aren't ready. I am never prepared enough for the days at school. There's too much to do at home to spend any more time there. I think 10 hour days are all I can take. I thought this was supposed to get easier, but I'm not seeing it.

Feeling Blue...

Jeremy wants to say "I am a good boy. I am cool. I love my family. I love Trent. And I love my friends. I also love my new skateboard. I love my cat, patches. I love my church. I love my Heavenly Father. I love Jesus. I love my home on Earth. I'm going to bed now."

OK, now I am going to bed now too. It seems I can't get any rest around here. I've been fighting the head and chest cold thing - maybe even a flu - I'm not sure. Kids just don't seem to get that all I want to do is sleep. Maybe Jeremy can have his own blog when he learns to type. That would save me from this constant over-the-shoulder-looking thing he is doing right now. Good night all.

Powerful Prayer

It's funny how our Father sends us messages - even when we're not expecting it. Everything I've been struggling with for the past two Sundays has been in a talk or lesson. I even understood a little of the Spanish group's speaker - just what I needed to hear. I am so amazed.

What's more, I am gaining the testimony of the power of prayer in our school prayer group. We have had some pretty amazing successes. It's strange how I never thought about other people's religion, and how similar our basic beliefs are. I have always focused on what's different. I know that's what makes me a Latter-Day-Saint, but since most of my time is spent with non-members, I have begun to truly appreciate their beliefs and the power that Heavenly Father gives to all his children who ask in faith.

Keep on praying!

Death, Taxes and a slow economy...

I'm working on taxes today. Done with Grant's and his friend, Robert's (at least until he finds his bank statement). Mine takes a little longer. Of course, we'll all be getting IOU's from the state. LOL. I'm pretty secure about my job, but it looks like our classes will be a lot bigger next year. Yikes 30, 8-year-olds in one room! I am looking for a new profession...

Trent stayed here last night. He is just precious, although always busy. It always amazes me how articulate he is for his age. I wish all parents would talk to their kids a lot. I think that's part of why he has such a great vocabulary...
